We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel because of the friendly staff and service we received. The Hotel itself is very warm and welcoming with the decor and original beams complementing throughout.
Lovely location and staff very friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to help. The food was excellent
Old world feel, helpful staff, excellent breakfast
Reception was a bit understaffed as manager had to check people in, take phone calls and show people to their rooms
The George is a delightful place, full of character and welcoming friendly staff. Thoroughly great value for money and good selection of food and beer. Asahi on tap.....fantastic!
Comfortable and individual room , luxury bathroom and very comfortable bed , bathrobes and lovely toiletries. Friendly service overall a very relaxing experience
Rooms are on upper floor accessed by stairway. As building is very old and full of character it has lots of little steps throughout the buildinh so not suitable for anyone wiith mobilitu issues. Only negative to consider
It was a really nice atmosphere to relax in a comfy chair during the afternoon with a drink and in the restaurant in the evening. Good food and service, nice friendly faces. V nice room, top of the house but of a good standard.
If I had to think of one thing that could be improved, there were some corners with appliances and things which could be moved out of sight into cupboards. Also a bit of trek to the toilets from the bar if the nearest one is occupied.
The personal touch - and character of the building. Food also excellent
Friendly staff and very good restaurant, carparking and location
Beds are too small, rooms at the front are very noisy due to main road and the bar downstairs. The curtains don't block out the light.
Very friendly, helpful staff. A really good roast dinner. A smart, if smallish, en-suite bedroom.
Very, very comfortable room! The staff is professional, the town is just right and the food at The George is excellent!
These days, wifi should be free, easy and a solid connection.
Lovely hotel, great mix of old features of the Inn with contempory design in the rooms. Enjoyed the food in the Brasserie. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely location. Would recommend and return
The cheerfullness and willingness of the staff, the historic building and the standard of cuisine.
The bed creaked very loudly when either of us moved, turned over etc which did not lead to a particularly restful night.
The food was wonderful and the room beautiful. The staff were extremely helpful and we had a lovely stay.
It was quite noisy in the evening as it is a busy bar, but I still slept well.
Great firendly atmosphere, fantastic food, staff very good always helpful, could be a little noisy as a pub as well, but room great , just the place for a weekend away. Prices good get what you pay for worth every penny, got there late but still no trouble to get us dinner, and what food, could eat there again and again.Great place will go again.
