the people were very nice, even thu it was New Year's Eve

there were no flannels in our room, is that the norm

    Very good

Pleasant town center location, but quiet and with adequate parking facilities. Unpretentious, but providing the level of service and breadth of offering that is typical of the best of English country town hotel and pub. The Cranbrook walk leaflet was excellent - when the next version is printed see if the walk could be slightly extended to take the visitor past the windmill.

Service in the brasserie was a little slow.

We only stayed for one night but it was a very pleasant experience and would stay again if in the area

    Superb

We liked the old world look of the hotel and the lovely restuarant. We also liked the convenience with car parking and in the centre of this lovely old town of Cranbrook with its individual shops. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast and excellent dinner in the evening with our Grandsons who are at school locally. The manager was most attentive to our requests and needs. We would definately stay there again.

    Superb

This was a lovey little historic hotel in a lovely small town. There was a real buzz downstairs in the communal rooms at all times of day and the staff were really friendly. The room was very comfortable with an excellent bed. We had a great meal on the first evening in the restaurant - good value and very atmospheric - log fire, candles and leaded windows. Came home feeling rested, relaxed and wanting to move to Kent!

    Fabulous

    Most of it-lovely breakfast

Brasserie appears to being used as a locals drinking bar -not that welcoming for meals and could not get near bar for above reason. Food is pricy for the standard - Michelin starred restaurant up the road is cheaper! Why not have whole menu throughout the hotel including brasserie meals. General point when you increase food prices - alter the website!!

The staff and especially the two managers Martin and Jim were excellent from the time of booking in until my departure ! very welcoming yet very professional too ! Would highly reccommend this hotel to both ends of the sprectrum . Will be returning on business or pleasure.

    Superb

Good location for the Weald and surrounding Kent countryside and villages. Hotel is an old Coaching Inn and the history shines through in all areas of the building. Atmosphere in the hotel is extremely inviting and, as the central point in Cranbook, village is constantly and quietly bustling with local people of all ages and interests dropping in throughout the day and evening and mixing readily with guests and visitors. The food in the Brasserie and dining room is of a high quality and freshly prepared by an excellent chef and team. The breakfast kippers were fabulous! The wine collection is a good standard. The absolute highlight is the young, highly efficient, informative and customer oriented team of staff being led by two effective Hotel managers. All requests were dealt with politely and efficiently and with engaging humour in a friendly manner. We highly recommend The George Hotel and Brasserie in Cranbook!

A lounge area with comfy sofas and chairs would be an added advantage as an alternative place to read papers and relax away from the bar and dining room. The bedroom shower was rather antiquated by modern standards!

    Fabulous

Hotel rooms unique exceptional clean and spacious, very worm welcome and friendly atmosphere.

Was disappointed with attention within the restaurant as my meal was unsatisfactory, no member of staff inquired if all was OK but did get a refund after requesting returning my food. I think this was an exception.

    Exceptional

The fact we could take our little dog with us made it a lovely holiday. He was treated like a special guest and although we could not eat in the main dining room the staff were more than happy to lay a table for breakfast in the brasserie area so he could join us. We had a lovely time and look forward to returning in November for a few days as it is a perfect location for visiting the gorgeous Kent countryside. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a holiday at anytime of the year to enjoy the comfort, warm welcome and good food.

    Fabulous

Nice historic building in the heart of a pretty Kent village.

    Very good

A good welcome to wet cyclists, and safe bike storage. Lovely and comfortable old building. Excellent bedroom and bathroom with dressing gowns. Tasty food. Friendly staff.

Food a bit pricy, and a ridiculously small pudding for the price. Breakfast buffet disappointing in the range of cereals, fruit etc on offer. Waitresses appeared to be in training.

    Superb

I have been before, so knew how good it was. The hotel itself is a beautiful building, Cranbrook is a lovely village. Everything about the hotel was great and really friendly staff. Big thumbs up!

Our bedroom was over the bar, so noisy until drinkers had left. Feather pillows not hard artificial ones would be great.
